The publication "Geography of Happiness" aims to transform the subjective concept of happiness into a more objective, analyzable form through maps and infographics. By incorporating both global and personal perspectives, it offers a detailed exploration of happiness from various angles. Through text material and interviews with esteemed research institutions such as the Gallup World Poll, the World Happiness Report and the Happiness Research Institute, the first 48 pages invite the reader to gain a holistic view of global wellbeing and highlight the social relevance of happiness. Key questions like "How happy is our world?" and "What does happiness mean to you?" are explored through both qualitative and quantitative research methods, identifying patterns and trends in global happiness.

The following 60 pages feature 21 infographics that seek to spark a deeper understanding of happiness, making the data comprehensible through visual storytelling. Therefore, data visualizations play a crucial role in clearly and consistently depicting complex facts and figures derived from existing statistics and research findings, encouraging a dialogue on wellbeing. On the last few pages readers find an index explaining relevant technical terms from the earlier text, with page references to guide further exploration.

Although the choice of black and white might seem unusual for a topic like happiness, it is a deeply conceptual design. In moments of pure joy, such as laughter or heartfelt connection, we often close our eyes, creating darkness. This is symbolized by the black background of the infographics, while the shiny silver paper reflects the stars we might envision in these joyful moments. A Swiss brochure binding is used, allowing the book to lay flat and making all information, even in the spine, easy to access. Additionally, personal definitions of happiness are revealed on the fold-out cover pages adding a personal touch to the global perspective.
